Exploring the Public Sphere
Once things get too complicated, we need to get back to our roots; this allows us to rediscover our relationship with ourselves and the world around us. Students United for Public Action (SUPA) looks to uncover disharmonies within the contexts of various worlds and sub worlds to which we belong. Through our personal, organic growth and grassroots movements, we focus on the circulation of our writing to implement the skill of writing as a meaningful purpose. With the goal of reconfiguring worlds at the heart of our projects, intense, practical involvement and participatory exploration of issues uses folk-singer and activist Pete Seeger as an impetus for change. He says it best when he says, “We’ve all got to be involved in trying to put this world together. I think if the world is put together, it’s not gonna be done by big organizations, it’s gonna be done by millions upon millions of little organizations, often local...You can think globally, but act locally.”
